I opened up one of my rigs to use as an I.F. for microwave, it transmits 160
KHz to 200 MHz, AM, FM, CW and SSB. Using the data port on the rear would
by-pass the audio input filters and drive the modulator directly for some
good Hi-Fi operation., however, like you, I enjoy my various licenses far
too much to mess around.
I studied television and radio production in college, aside from the expense
and amount of the equipment used, there isn't much difference between what
is done in a major studio and what a fourth grader can do at home on a junk
computer or some old tape decks.
