[Spooks] DXing stations other than m8a and v2a in Ohio, Indiana possible?

Fellow dxers.... I seem to be unable to pick up even a trace of anything other than v2a and m8a.  Is is even possible that with a really excellent antenna, I might be able to detect something else?  What other stations should I be able to hear?  Also, would testing propagation around sunrise and sunset help?  Just curious if my problems are equipment related or if there are just very few broadcasts targeted at the central USA.  
   
Does anyone think that on the whole numbers broadcasts are becoming obsolete or reduced in number?
