[Spooks] Trade/share/archive recordings?

Fellow DXers.....

Have we ever considered archiving, trading or just giving away recordings? I gather that the Conet guy - I forget his name - actually sued someone over the rights to his recordings, for some reason. I guess it was a band who used them in a song, which is unfortunate, but it appears that those of us in the USA will not be hearing the Lincolnshire Poacher anytime soon. And yes, we could just download the existing commercial recordings, but that just seems kind of feeble. Can we all just post some recordings somewhere, or set up a site someplace, and agree that we won't sue each other? There has to be some kind of 3rd party location where we could store the files. I personally don't care if anyone does anything they want with the recordings I put there, since I don't really consider them to be mine in any significant way. I realize not everyone would want to do this, but thats fine. If you have spent years tracking down a station, I don't want you to share the recording unless you want to. Do others of you have any thoughts on this ? I realize that a while back, there were internet enabled radios that one could listen in on for a few minutes, but when I went back to check on them, the entire project had been shut down. (lack of interest? high cost?)

Otherwise, for most of us, I would think we are more or less limited to what we can pick up with normal antenna rigs in our reception zone.

I suppose the other option is to get on a plane with portable and just see what you can pick up when you get there. (DXpeditioning).

ideas?
