Many years ago in Los Angeles there was a TIS (traffic information station)
running a looped test message.  I think it was on 530 KHz.  There may have
been an ID, but what I remember was a fellow with a deep Southern US accent
reapeating "1 2 3 4 5, 5 4 3 2 1, test, test, test"  This lasted a couple of
weeks.

Many cities have their own LPAM (Low Power Amplitude Modulation) stations
and they can be on any unused frequency within the AM broadcast range.
There are three in Carson City, NV alone.

Recently while traveling on Hwy 395 in california, I received an information
and auto-tour broadcast from Manzinar concentration camp.  I forget the
frequency, 1610 KHz comes to mind, I did get a recording of the entire
broadcast.
