Achtung, I think that the russian comments sound like
this classsic Mission Impossible line:
"As always, should you or any of your I. M. Force be
caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any
knowledge of your actions."
About the stations in Canada, I was mostly talking
about RADAR stations, but it is still possible
(probably) that embassies in Ottawa may hide some
numbers contents in their diplomatic communications.
Also, it is no more like the Cold War era, but the
following links are two famous cases in Canada.
Pinetree Line (Closed today, but it replaced by new
facilities):
http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/airdef/annexf.htm
Alert base, in the high Arctic:
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cryofront/V4-n2.htm
I am aware of more facilities are or are suspected to
be related to this branch, but I guess it is
preferable to let you reading between the lines in the
news or books since I don't want to get an unmarked
black car with two men waiting in front of my place
for me.
Achtung, are you also in Montreal? It is nice to know
another "agent" around here. On my side, what I hear
is mostly "so-called Cuban" traffic. A rule often
heard about the spooks is "if you watch someone, get
ready to be watched." Canada, USA, UK, France, Russia,
Middle East countries, all of them have spy
agencies... I am sure that I/we don't catch everything
on-air.
