[Spooks] Letter beacon in Florida?

Greetings, all, first time poster here so be gentle...

I read something interesting in, of all places, WikiPedia,
about letter beacons.  Wiki states:

"One beacon was found originating from a transmitter tied between
two palm trees on a remote beach in Florida."

Anyone know the story about that -- where it was located, freq, letter
sent, when found and by whom?
