Hi KC?KBH:

When I have heard the harmonics, and it has been a few months now, the
signals were loud and clear. Same transmitters and audio, but better signal
in the higher band. I think the harmonic was associated with one particular
transmitter, as it sounded like the same one each time. The harmonics
showed up in the 13 and 14 bands if memory serves me.
The Cuban audio on their transmitters does leave a lot to be desired,
but try listening to the voice numbers in CW or USB or LSB mode in addition
to AM. Many times it sounds better in USB mode.
My point about the harmonics was that the 13 band has had them before
and when you log the calls, it is another way of confirming that you have a
harmonic if the same calls are being broadcast exactly half of the 13? freq.
Sometimes the Cuban voice stations are a real challenge to copy because
of the audio distortions, but if you tune in and listen carefully, you
shouldn't have too much trouble getting the calls.
Do a search in the Spooks Database and you should find my logs with
comments about the harmonics. Search on V2a and the 13??? freq range.
There were probably 3-5 instances over 6 months ago.
This is also another reason to try and correctly ID your numbers
stations. If you entered it in the database as V2 you would not get the
same results for your query.
As an after thought, I don't believe that I have heard M8, M8a or M8c in
harmonics. Seems to be a voice thing. Maybe someone else can confirm this
or affirm this.
    Happy monitoring!

Mark
