Greetings:
I've heard speculation that Sam is in Arizona or New Mexico.
I'm in NE Arizona, using an RX-320 with a 600' north-south longwire about
80' off the ground. Here is what I observed at 05:15 UT:
3700: Sam sounds close, but not enough to cover all QRN
4300: lots of QRM here (FAX), but Sam is strong enough to block most of it
6500: QRM here too (weather and FAX), but Sam is barely readable underneath
10500: No Sam at all
Sounds to me like:
1) Sam is close with very low power--which means east coast probably cannot
hear him at this time
2) Sam is somewhat distant from Arizona/New Mexico
Is my thinking correct?
Dave
