Hi Igor and Matt:

    V2c is the designation for the V2 variant that pauses every 10th group
in the message. A V2, V2a and V2c are all in the same family, but are
different entities as far as formats and messages go. The same goes for M8,
M8a and M8c. There are also several different variants of the M13 family.
Plus many other families.
    When identifying the "numbers" stations for the database, we should try
and get a correct designation. This way the database is a helpful tool for
searching out patterns and possible sked times for future catches.
    Go on-line and get the latest copy of the Enigma Control List for all
the families. Note, some of the variants aren't used anymore. M8a changed
last December 2003 to the current M8c variant, but last week it has been
using the old M8a format.
    Glad to see you found the V2c skeds Matt. Try and copy down the callups
and also include them in your logs, as these also help to ID a station in
addition to any message preambles that a station may send.

Mark
