OK, being new to this list, not sure if there is a preferred format or not,
or if some of this content is better for another list (?). I don't know
which may be numbers stations and which are something else.
>From a very remote desert location with no manmade noise, I heard the
following:
-- 0145z, 2241.6, CW, station "4EIY" heard sending some odd text (tuned in
at the end, not sure on groupings, etc).
-- 0155z, 4090, CW. Heard a station sending an enless series of "dashes".
At first, thought it was an atomic clock like WWV or CHU, but there was no
station ID nor voice info. Tuned up about 10 kHz, and heard two OTHER
stations doing the same thing, but different lengths for the dashes (some
about 1 second long, others maybe 1/4 sec). VERY weird, never heard this
before.
-- ~0200z, up and down 5 MHz band -- heard very strange digital-type signal,
wide-banded, sounded kind of like a slide-whistle, going up and down in
tone. There were multiple tones doing the same thing, and each grouping of
"whistles" took up about 20 kHz of bandwidth. (unfortunately, no recordings
of any of these)
Now, my location was not far from an Army bombing range, so am wondering if
they were doing some stuff out there.
Happy hunting,
Bert
