Hi John K1RC,
Yea, I have a long memory of the old ASA. Did my time in Germany
was in from '70 to '73. did a few tdy's as well. was a flunkie
from Ft. Devens, 98B crypto. Army made me a clerk/courier and
enjoyed the easy jobs. still working for the federal gov't
to this day and it is equally nice and easy work...quality
assurance Aerospace.

Remember the word GAF or FTA? those were two big ones during
the day.

joe

Hey Terry,

I haven't heard anyone use the word "NUG" in 35 years... Brings
back some old memories... Was ASA 058 from '65 to '69. Mostly
in the Pacific.
I did my NUG tour at Homestead Fl....

73,
John K1RC

Anyway my gear isn't too complex, it's a Sangean ATS-818 and a Grundig YB300
PE.
What stations have you been picking up? 73s, Sue
-----

I've gotten a really fuzzy Atencion a couple of times, and what I THINK is
the Counting Station. I'm not sure, since it was in the sideband, so it was

pretty distorted, but it sounded like English. (Oddly enough, I got it the
first time trolling for Atencion. Go figure!)

Given my location (northern AL), I'm not sure I can pick up a whole lot, at
least of the well-known stations.

Thanks for the response! (It's kinda keen to know that there's another
female- a namesake, even!- who's interested in this stuff.)
