The problems associated with unsubscribing from lists occurs quite
frequently. One of the more puzzling aspects is the missing headers and
footers on list group messages. There are several email forwarders and
clients which strip both headers and footers from messages. I seem to
remember that AOL and Hotmail among others strip list messages of
information such as what is being described.

Some list groups have partially solved this troublesome problem by sending
out twice monthy announcements giving information such as unsubscribe
instructions.
