Yeh I got that story in my "espionage" filter at yahoo news this a.m. -
semi-funny story - had a one of my old Vbasic instructors fill in one of
my other classes today - one of my first crude programs in his class 2
yrs ago was a quickie logbook generator (key in the essentials, save to
file, print a crude logsheet - I was sick of the myriad VB "calculators"
I had to build in this class) -- but anyway, in the original class, I
knew he secretly suspected I was the last of the Great Cold-War
Conspiracy Theorists and thought I was just too damned odd.
The timing of this article was great - printed that sucker out in class
this morning while he was filling in - he remembered my project
(horrible in design, but functional for the purpose and the grade) and I
did a mock end-zone dance, when he read it and laughed over it, for at
the time I had bothered to bring him one or two of the wav files I'd
recorded, just for giggles. I still don't think he believes I'm any LESS
nuts, but at least I felt vindicated, and that seeming decline of the
Cuban numbers broadcasts seems more timely now...
