All,
I'm fairly new to all this, so please bear with me.
I'm looking to purchase a SW radio for listening to numbers stations, as
well as general SW listening. I'd like something (new or used) in the $100
range. Can anyone suggest a good radio for that price?
I understand that some decent portables with digital tuners are available
in that range. Anyone have any opinions on the subject? A digital tuner is
an attractive feature, because I was going to dabble in decoding weatherfax
transmissions.
I live in the San Diego area, soon (hopefully) to relocate to Northern
Utah. Any advice on monitoring from either of those two areas?
I remember as a kid sitting in front of my grandfather's SW setup listening
to the numbers stations. Being an adventurous kid, I immediately thought of
spies and espionage....
Many thanks!
---Matt
