Okay,

I just left the USAF.  I have a total of 14 years working in and for SAC 
units and directly for the US Strategic Command.  I have transmitted or 
processed over 5000 EAM's and if my math is correct a few more of what you 
refer to as skyking messages. (Yes, we keep track so the bean counters can 
throw numbers on our evaluations.)  
 
 We refer to them as FOXTROT messages. FOXTROT's and EAM's are 2 completely 
different messages. FOXTROT means a one way transmission. These are a single 
3 letter group that means something to someone.  We do not expect a reply.

EAM's are substantially longer originate from a different source and are 
handled in a completely different manner. 

Trust me EAMS and FOXTROTS do not have any thing in common.  I would never 
let a Lieutenant anywhere near either one.  These messages are too important. 
That is why we have NCO's
