[spooks] 111744 whistling oddity

I must say USAF pilots would not transmit full power on 11175 (or 11174 for
that matter) whistling to test their auto tuners. Imagine a phone patch with
a SAM aircraft carrying the first lady of the US on 11175 and some guy
coming on stepping on them, whistling into his mic - not likely. The
European HAM theory is likely although the repeated, timely transmissions
and out of standard amateur band location is quite suspect.
regards all,
Todd

Off now.
They were in intermittent contact with a USAF C-5 acft
No spooks---------shucks.
However knowing mil pilots as I do, I wouldn't be surprised to
hear them whistling on freq to check the auto tuner's match.
Either way, definitely not Hams.
