This is true, the USAF Global High Frequency System's main freq is 11175
khz. You'll hear A LOT of milair traffic there, including two different main
types of coded traffic. I think the mil air band starts right at 11175, and
it seemed to me our whistler is on 11174 which would be just under. But
indeed, monitoring 11175khz you will hear him although somewhat distorted
and at too high a pitch.

Again I must re-iterate this is not GHFS realated in any way except for the
fact that the whistle guy is so close to 11175. Maybe I'll get you guys
listening to EAMs and FOXTROT (SKY KING SKYKING do not answer) comms from
the USAF :)

If someone could record him, that would be great. I'll be sure to be there
21:00 utc to try myself!

regards,
-Todd

This is a military frequency as I also heard Andrews on hear. A ham op
wouldn't think of
whistling around military freqs.
