Numbers  stations are generally creatures of habit. They (with some
exceptions) tend to keep regular schedules - the same time, day of week,
and frequency, each week. So keeping track of what others are hearing is
essential to being able to find the stations yourself, unless you just
twiddle the dial (which of course is how new skeds are found!).

You can also make use of the fact that they tend to use the utility bands,
some bands more than others.
