The Kanawha County Commission will hold a commemorative event in honor of
the anniversary of 9/11/2001 this Saturday (9/11) at Yeager Airport. In
conjunction with the event, WA8AYP will conduct a Special Event. The
station will be located in the new Kanawha Metro Mobile
Command/Communications Vehicle.

The Special Event will begin at 0800 and will continue so long as there are
operators to support it. We are planning a 3 to 4 hour operation. Stations
contacting WA8AYP on the HF bands will receive a very nice QSL. Look for us
+/- 7240 KHz as well as the General portion of 75 and 20 meter bands.

If you're an amateur (and even if you're not), you're cordially invited to
join us and operate.

WA8AYP is the former callsign of Robert Wise, Sr. (SK), the father of
Governor Bob Wise. It is currently the club call of the Kanawha Amateur
Radio Emergency Service.
