Hollywood would have us believe that the USA won World War 2.
Some of you with long memories may choose to recall a party to which people from many countries were invited.
It was held on 6th June 1944 in Normandy, France, and the roistering went on for some time after that date.
As the 80th anniversary of that event is almost upon us, it would seem appropriate to remember the occasion.
