[SOC] Morse code oscilator for a young boy

Some of us got our first exposure to “radio” through the Scouts. At his age, I think he’d be ripe for Cub scouts. Dunno if the Cubs have a merit badge for something similar…but the Boy Scouts, age 11 and up, definitely introduce amateur radio and CW to them as part of a “radio” merit badge.
That notwithstanding, perhaps an old transceiver with the carrier turned off that still produces a tone? My old TS 440s does that, and I think my KX3 will do it as well.
