[SOC] Calling frequencies

G3ZQS founder of FISTS and FOC never tried for years to get FISTS members
to have and use calling frequencies the way they were intended: calling
only.
Again and again, stations world use these frequencies, make contact and
carry on a conversion.
Of course this destroyed the effectiveness of a calling frequency because
listeners would either turn down the volume or turn the radio off.
It's a great idea. ARRL published a list of primary and secondary calling
frequencies for CW, SSB and RTTY for HF and VHF/UHF.
It's a fabulous idea, it would be a major boost if SOC could carry off
something ARRL, FOC, and FISTS ALL failed to accomplish.
Ships would use 500 kHz for Morse calling and distress and 2182 kHz for
voice (AM and USB) distress.
