As a fellow member of the 'JK clan, it seems to me that there's only one way out of this debacle: Build an antenna! Perhaps a Helix, or corner reflector, or, if necessary, even a non-W8JK design. Maybe even something new to carry on the legacy. There's a certain obligation associated with identifying by the sacred call sign.

This SOC forum, is way cheaper than professional therapy.
Past few days, I had cw qso's with, JJ2IJU on 18087 khz,
K0CL on 10119 khz and KC7BEY 10119 khz. It took a
- lot - of CQ's and staring at my radio & listening to hours
of static to pull this off. ( mind you I can listen to 12 hours
of static and feel like I've had an most excellent day ! ).
For the past year and a half, just getting the most entries
or spots from the reverse beacon network for my daily
CQ's is a cheap thrill.
But this FT-8 computer thing ... its a slippery slope.
