Earlier this week, a number of people in southcentral Alaska
went nuts. Kept law enforcement and ems busy with people
hurting themselves doin stupid things. Jumping off buildings,
bridge overpasses, running out into heavy traffic getting hit
by cars (some were naked ! ).

Taken from the ARRL propagation report:
" But Alaska felt the full force of the geomagnetic storm,
with an A index in Fairbanks (the College A index)
of 90, a very high number. "

Now I do not have the scientific background to back
up my theory of bizarre human behavior and geomagnetic
storms. But ! I can read, use morse code effectively
at Qrp power levels successfully. Build stuff that works
from electronic schematics. Consume my share of beer
and other physical skills.

Anyways they go on to mention: " from an unexpected
crack, opening in Earth's magnetic field. Solar wind
spewed forth "

That's all the proof I need. Myself, I stayed indoors
kept a low profile, even logged a couple cw Qso's
during this geomagnetic storm. Its safe for folks up
north now to venture outside. Last night, had a cool
cw Qso with K7FD in Oregon at 11:30pm on 40 mtrs.
Things are returning back to normal. Your mileage may
vary.

This email is submitted for "peer review " by my
SOC colleagues.
