ood Afternoon YLs and any Gentlemen,
I was inspired to author this short post reading all of the descriptions of
ancient equipment and tall tales.
Is this going to be a post in 2068 on this list?
*I remember back in the day the first rig I got from my Elmer. It was this
giant box about 5 inches high, 9 inches wide or so, and about a foot deep.
If memory serves me right, and it usually doesn't, it was an ICOM 7300.*
*It had that archaic touch screen. What a pain it was to use it if you were
eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Our current voice-activated
radios are a dream compared to that damn boat anchor!*
*Speaking of boat anchors, I think over 100 years ago there were radios
that weighed 40 or 50 pounds that you could use as an anchor!*
*I went to a hamfest and the rumors there were about some new-fangled radio
that produces some hologram of the other operator. I sure hope the damn 3D
avatar has clothes on!*
