But, you forgot, the ARRL, made these moves in defense of what Wayne
Green had proposed. I do not remember the details
anymore, but that was way worse than what we ended up with. Myself, I
bit the bullet early and passed the Advanced Class
test and the Amateur Extra Class tests (written & 20 WPM code) in
Detroit, more out of I was just ready and hoped able.
So, I thank the ARRL for minimizing the pain and I lost nothing, even
then, a long time operator. But, now, a creaking older
time operator. B>}
