Nope, Doc, it is not just you.
Sadly, I left ARRL several years ago after over 40 years of membership.
When I tendered my resignation, the Head Honcho (Dave Sumner) personally
chided me for my decision. He said my desire for protection of the CW
bands and Morse proficiency was anachronistic and that maintaining high
testing standards for license advancement was not in the best interest
of the "League".
I suspect his ire may have been due in part to my SOC affiliation.
