You are probably right.  40 meter band conditions have been extremely
poor lately. The band goes long and the ionosphere does not return the
signals back to earth.  Seems reasonable that with all those signals
escaping from the Earth, that something somewhere should be receiving
those signals. Keep an ear open for Long Delayed Echoes.
