Well the olden day QRP-L list was populated with some of the smartest
cats around in both electronics as well as amateur radio.

Scientists galore. For some strange reason most navigators aboard
nuclear submarines were also hams, who later became scientists.

I joined the olden day QRP-L list about 20 years and my [lifetime]
membership number is #1978.

Flying Pigs [FPQRP] and Second Class Operators [SOC] are both offshoots
of the original QRP-L.

Second Class Operators [SOC] came about when we heard of a "First Class
Operators Group". Unfortunately membership was by invitation only,
suitably miffed certain personages established the Second Class
Operators [SOC] group, and lacking class misspelt the acronym...

Other groups such as Glowbugs devoted to vintage valve [tube] radio
technology share many common members, hence sometimes cross posting.

Thanks! :) 72/73's
