Why oh why?

When I was a lad...... the number of cycles in a given time was called "Cycles" and ever since then I found my brain hurts when referring to Hertz.  Megacycles is like it says on the tin; million cycles - one hell of a bike race.



All the good numbers (54,55,56, 71,72, 73, 69,87, 88, several million)

We could go the other way.


Embrace the metric system more thoroughly by measuring the time in a day as 10 hours, 100 minutes and 100 seconds!


Maybe also 10 months in a year with alternating 36 & 37 day months and leap year could still have the extra day in February (bowing to tradition).


Boy would all that screw up standards - just think of the new rpm, Hz, etc., etc.
