The problem is that TIME is not base 10.

Our numbering system is base 10 because we started counting on our fingers.

Time however came from nature.  The length of one year was about 360 days, which we also used for the description of one circle a full arc enclosing a point at the centre.

We start seeing numbers of 360, we divided by 12 and had months of 30 days.

360 divided by 24 hours in one day means every 15 degrees the local hour changes.

The natural log is a number derived from nature.

Of course relationships aren't always easy to figure out.

Think of the ratio of the diameter to circumference, a very irrational number, 3.14159... and so on.
