In keeping with our insistence to use our own system of weights and
measures, I propose that we immediately begin referring to our ham bands as
only the US should:
6 Meters should be called the 20 Foot Band
For HF, also with some approximations, the bands should be referred to as
follows:
10 Meters becomes the 33 Foot band
15 " " " 50 Foot Band
20 " 65 Foot Band
40 " 130 Foot Band
80 " 260 Foot Band
160 " 525 Foot Band
Formulas for antenna calculations could be simplified since element lengths
for us are specified in feet and inches.
