[SOC] how to tarnish an SOC member?

Now I don't want this to tarnish my standing as a basified member of the
SOC fraternity (my SOC #....?) but someone (actually at least two
fellows) nominated me to be in the A-! operator club. The inclosed letter
uses such words as as "elite group".
arg.

I thought when I wrote my definitive paper on  the 100 watt contest final
revisited, revisited from wayne green/ol' smoke's CQ article from the
50s. I felt a revisit was necessary because of a shift from 100 watts
input to 150 watts output in the contest rules of some major contests.

words to the effect that neutralization was unnecessary in the modern
contest final, and meters just required more holes in the final cabinet,
which sometimes let in too much cool air keeping the final from
melting..............

well. I guess it is time to mend my ways, and listen before I send
CQ.................
