[SOC] Callsigns for WRTC2014 Competition Announced

WRCT is upon us once again. Sounds like fun. But who do I contact to get
involved in the WRCT2014 “Chase”? The 59 teams are using 1X1 1st area
special callsigns. I looked here:

and saw "The WRCT competitors will use 1×1 callsigns from the USA first
call area. Sixteen of the available 75 callsigns will not be used,
including the longest and shortest CW suffixes (“J”, “Q”, “Y”, “E”) and
suffixes that are frequently miscopied on CW (“H”). Note that the “X”
suffixes are not available in this callsign series."

Now why is the letter "H" so frequently miscopied that they have to
avoid it? And why are these operators so poorly skilled that they are
frequently miscopying callsigns?  Looks like we might have a few more
prospective SOC members in the WRCT competitor group. I say include the
letter "H" in the callsign pool and increase the challenge!
