What is my SOC call? What does "CQBW" mean? Will I get any answers if I call "CQBW" the way Johnny used to "call for Philip Morris?"
Sincerely,
Name Withheld to Protect the Guilty

Subject: [SOC] FOC QSO Party
Congratulations Frank, KG6EYC/K6SOC on the new club call!
We now have five SOC club calls:
K6SOC
M0SOC
W0SOC
W5SOC
W1SOC
To kick off our two new ones (new trustee for W0SOC), I have a
suggestion. The FOC QSO Party is this weekend, September 14 and is open
to both members and non-members. I've participated in this party
several times as W1SOC and always had a blast. How about we throw the
FOCers a curve and show up en masse with our SOC calls. If the trustee
of any of the five can't personally participate, someone else could pick
it up for the Party. And don't worry about only working FOCers, in this
one everybody works everybody. They might not buy it, but we could make
it a FOC/SOC QSO Party.
For all SOCers who want to give it a go: Call CQBW or answer others
doing so. Our exchange is simply RST and Name.
