I think QRS 5, really means QRS 50, but the zero is understood.

QRQ 5 is easily achieved by keeping the characters at 2 wpm and reducing
the spacing between characters and between words to the equivalent of 50
wpm, making the entire text into one easily understood pro-sign, i.e.,
- - -.- - - . - - . . . . . . . - - - - - - . . . . - . , translated "my
name is john" or may be it is "oanw5e06n," something to do with a
special event station, w5e.

QRS 5 or QRQ 5 can also be obtained by make dots and dashes at fifty
words per minute and increasing the spacing between the dots, dashes,
characters, and words uniformly so that 5 wpm is achieved. Development
of either or both these skills may be beyond the capabilities of most
SOC members, but just keep practicing. The uses of variable spacing and
uniform dots and dashes is a skill that can be easily mastered. Helpful
hit, using a poorly adjusted straight key (start with a 3/16th inch or
greater contact spacing and loose pivets) and enjoying your favorite
alcoholic beverage, before and during a QSO, really helps greatly in
developing the latter technique. The perfection of these skills, will
truly set one apart as a second class operator.
