"In this case if the second side don't make 2 thirds of the score set
when they have all been bowled out (1) then they MUST "follow on" and go in again.  If they do exceed 2 thirds of the "declared" score set by
the first side they can make the first side bat again.  If they make a
total above the original score and want to win the match, but time is
short - they may declare also and make the first side bat - in the hope
of getting them all out before the end of play, and with a score total
less than their own."

I'm not sure this is accurate.

If the second side in is out without making the required runs the side that was out first can put them in again by inviting them to 'follow on' - whereupon they go in until they're out again (if they're invited they must go in). However the first side out can ignore the second side in's score and go in again - they don't have to invite the second side out to go in for a second time.

The first side out can go in again for the second time, if their first score has been bettered by the total score of the second side in after they were out for a second time.

Hope this helps

Paul
