This is a true story swearta god. This past Field Day we got permission to
set up in a hayfield here in Vermont. There is a 2-holer outhouse on the
edge of the field and early Sunday morning when I went in to answer the call
of nature I met the farmer who had just finished and was pulling up his bib
overalls. As he turned around, a dime fell out his pocket, bounced on the
edge of the seat and fell down the hole. He peered down the hole, put his
hand in his pocket, pulled out a five dollar bill and threw it down the hole
after the dime.
He saw me staring at him with my mouth open and in explanation said, "Well,
I ain't crawlin' down THERE for no ten-cents."
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
