Go to Dollar General. Buy AM/FM radio with headphones & battery for $1.
Take apart.
Examine.
Scratch head.
Reassemble on Vero or Vector board.
Turn on and find that it hoots like hell.
Buy lots of decoupling caps.
Still hoots like hell.

Throw in bin.

Use 2nd receiver bought as spare from the Dollar Tree next door. Enjoy
music/talk until service goes digital.

Wonder what you will do to that $1 pedometer you bought at the same
time. Note to self. Future project: Make pedometer into CW keyer/paddle.
