The biggest change that I have seen since the 60s and the 70s is that
we've totally lost the ability to make light of ourselves. I distinctly
remember comedy albums brought forth by the likes of (hope I have the
spelling correct here) Vaughn Meader impersonating President Kennedy and
Davis Frye producing several comedy albums impersonating President Nixon.
They were very irreverent in their day and were hilarious, none the less.
It's sad to see that as a society, we have become so PC that any attempt
at humor is looked upon with disdain, and it is inferred that the person
poking the fun is a racist, hater or worse.
Thanks for places such as SOC where I can still come across harmless
humor that is frowned upon in "other, better" parts of society.
Long live the ability to laugh!
73 es thanks for listening to my .02
