[SOC] Purdie... said what?

Jeepers, Ian,
What in your msg could possibly raise such a charge? I re read your message and find it wonderful news that the US President did something good. The only thing I could find was the word dinkum, which the ignorant could construe as making a negative comment on a man of dark skin. It is possible that there was an American slang "dink" but I am not sure if anyone remembers it was used in Vietnam to refer to the US Asian enemy. Certainly, nothing on Google shows any dark skin person racist dimension for the whole word, "dinkum." Actually if this guy Kurt thinks that word triggered something inside him, HE is the sick puppy.

In fact, the dictionary of slang says dinkum is a very positive Aussie usage.

I really liked your trump saying u are one of the moderators.....hoo hoo boy, very good!

And quite sadly, your view on Americas divided people is so completely accurate. America is sick and its people blind to the illness or just ready to blame "the others." I do not see a way out of the hole they have dug and have predicted that Calif, NV, OR, WA will simply withdraw from the union someday and like-minded people will begin to migrate to "their" chosen areas and people ... dare I say it, like the PARTITION in India/Pakistan years ago. The Northeast will leave, too and the dumb and barefoot in the middle (where I was born and grew up) will learn what a Third World country is like.

Partly because of their illiness, I moved out of my home in Fla and retired to Thailand permanently 10 yrs ago. I am now happily HS0ZCW and minor DX to boot.

I admire how u handled this sad incident. sincere 73, Charly
