I suspect some of you are not going to be pleased with this report.
Whatever.
The President of the United States is now concluding a whirlwind tour of
Australia as I write.
The saddest part of his tour, apart from the brevity, was the totally
claustrophobic security.
Remember, well you probably won't, HM Queen Elizabeth 11 was here a week
or so back. She walked the streets accepting flower bouquets from school
children.
Not the US President, presumably on security advice.
A shame. He would definitely have been welcomed as a genuine "Rock
Star". Actually he literally was, given the limited "controlled" public
exposure he wa allowed to receive.
Compared to the "muted" response his predecessor received, he was
absolutely stunning and, in Australian terms a "fair dinkum" bloke.
He's welcome here anytime.
A wonderful ambassador for the USA. He repaired many damaged bridges
over the Iraq fiasco. He talked straight. He talked "Aussie". He pledged
to take back to Congress a number of Australian expressions.
"Ear Bashing" was foremost in his mind we believe. He's going to tell
Congress.
America?
Your President built bridges and hammered two messages, trade, trade and
building jobs for America.
As I said in the beginning:
"I suspect some of you are not going to be pleased with this report"
America, your President represented your country very well in Australia.
IMHO
Thanks! :) 72/73's
