Originally Cupie dolls were top shelf. Later years [1970's?] they were 
substituted with huge fluffy pink dogs or whatever.

Yep but also applies to spirits here as well. Apart from the modern 
generation, we never touched it. Would be too expensive in my day. 
Teenagers here think paying $7.00 for beer and $12.00 for Bourbon and 
coke is cool. More money than brains.

Then again, in my day we weren't paid adult wages until you turned 23 
[true] unless you were married. Today many teenagers have more 
disposable income than Mum and Dad combined.
