Jim in my part of the world it has two possible meanings but the actual 
origin eludes me:

a) You're really OK or; mostly

b) Drinks best avoided i.e. spirits which might shorten your life span. 
Most top shelf drinkers of my vintage never got to live as long as me. 
I'll enjoy an Irish Whiskey with three ice cubes maybe once a year but 
that's it for me.

I'm a Chardonnay drinker. Two beers bloats me now.
