Here's one that actually happened to me. For 22 years I worked for a
national distributor of professional photographic equipment. I was the
Service Manager. To prevent unauthorized merchandise returns we would
always tell people returning items for repair to mark the box "Attn:
Service Dept" conspicuously, so that we would know it was a repair and
we would not refuse it. One day I got called out to the Receiving Dept
and was asked whether or not they should refuse a package.

Sure enough, someone had sent a repair in a box addressed to us; but
instead of "Attn: Service Dept" they had put the word "conspicuously" on
the box - several times!
