Ian,

With all due respect, this is especially lame.  You don't know the US at 
all if you believe the majority of us are what you see from American TV 
or the news media.  The vast majority of us are very hard working 
individuals, struggling with day to day life, who would like nothing 
better to live our lives (quietly), enjoy the time we have; and be left 
alone.
