Wheuw..
So. Do you also want to restrict all intercourse to Non First Class Amateur Radio operation?
Unable to do much more than mention that we (Me or I) am not up to A1 and do well to SOC.
Have you created a "NEW O O"? Instead of Official Observer it is the SOC Offensive Offender?
Sounds as if I will need to park my sense of humor and go Bitter and Boring. ... I don't think I can.
I will do like when I find a new Net Group on HF.. LISTEN and Observe until I understand the attitude of the group
and which operators are the Bitter Old Men and which are the Dumb New Guys plus Identify the Benign Listener Inner's??
Ha.

Subject: [SOC] Donate to SOC
So I'm sitting in the shack with my stimulus money in one hand and a double
martini in the other hand and reading the latest no-class postings to the SOC
email reflector. I make an impulsive decision to quit all this toxic nonsense
and opt-out of the list as all my well respected friends are doing. Then I
remember that it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness. So not only
do I decide to stay in the list and continue to set a proper example for all the
unwashed SOC masses, but I decide to go one step better. I'll donate my stimulus
money to SOC!
I knew there had to be a donate button somewhere on the SOC website, but those
buttons are difficult to find. Now if only I cold remember the website address,
I might have a chance at finding the "Donate" button. So I Google "Donate to
SOC" and this is what I found:
http://www.socent.org/content.cfm?sectionid=9
And the page says "SOC is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations
are tax-deductible." Perfect!!
So rather than spending the dough on some Chinese made 3-500ZG's to replace the
soft tubes in my amp and reduce the flat-topping and splatter that I'm noted
for, I now know that my money is being used for the betterment of that glorious
SOC organization. I encourage others to also donate (at the above link). While
I'm sure the SOC organizers will use the money wisely, as the donor, I'd like to
offer a few suggestions on how it might be spent:
1) Purchase a case of Ivory soap and send a bar to anyone posting "smut" on the
SOC mailing list so that the offensive offender can wash their mouth with it.
2) Send the offensive offenders a copy of the book "How to Win Friends and
Influence People"
3) Send the offensive offenders a copy of the "Amateur's Code" by Paul Segal.
4) Order a gross of Wouff Houng replicas from the ARRL to be used on the
grossest offensive offenders.
5) Have a welding shop create a "Rettysnitch" to be used on those who persist to
be offensive offenders.
6) When all else fails, create a secondary moderated mailing list.
