[SOC] How to Increase your Signal 10dB

These approaches are nice, but all that "stuff" gets in the way.

I operate QRP ESP.  I have an S-0 noise level and get great signal reports.  I must admit that getting QSL cards has been difficult.  AS, I think I'm getting a call................

That's great Lee but I am getting 20 db over 9 reports by pouring Guinness beer down my throat and increasing my voice volume into the microphone. This of course all coincides with today (Sept.24) being the 250th anniversary of the St James Gate brewery in Dublin Ireland.  I was in QSO with a IE5ABC and he was amazed at my signal, he said he had to turn his AF and RF volume down to a mere nothing.  I must admit there were no SP's that could make it over the IE's and mine signal because the IE was celebrating too.  73 Rich K8UV

I tried an experiment the other day and want to inform the group on my
findings.

I made some Kielbasa the other day and hated to just throw out the leftover
drippings, so I decided to try an experiment.  I "oiled down" my 80 meter
dipole with it.  (I made sure I gave it a good coat).  Ever since then I
have been noticing my received signals and transmitted signal are around 10
dB stronger then they used to be before applying the drippings.  I even
think I heard a Polish station calling me on the 75 meter phone band the
other day.  I'm pritty sure I have accurate readings here as I'm using a
high quality Swan 350 radio.

I am now thinking of selling my amp and just have a good supply of Kielbasa
on hand at this QTH, or at least save the drippings for future applications.

Lee, w0vt
