Jim,
Running a K3 (or equivalent) would normally disqualify you from being
an SOC member. But, But, But seeing as how you are running it with
a ButterNutz vertical to bring its operational value down to a
HW-101, you are welcome to join the group. We have to keep all the
members on an even keel.

ps: Upgrading your antenna system(?) might disqualify you for SOC
membership and still not qualified for FOC leaving you in the dreaded
LOC (Limbo Operators Club - Not to be confused with the Limbo
Club located on El Camino in Redondo Beach. Lap dancing, nude
billiards, Happy Lappy Hour, Aarrgggggg **&^!$@#$*&^@)...

Well I was just notified of my acceptance into the Second Class Operators
Club. I¹m not entirely sure I want to belong to an organization that will
accept someone like me, but I guess I¹ll give it a try.

You can see my profile on QRZ.com and check out my blog at
http://www.k5nd.us/K5ND/Radio_Blog/Radio_Blog.html I¹m currently running an
Elecraft K3/10 watts into a Butternut HF2V and a long wire. I work CW
exclusively and have just started working some contests. I live in
Grapevine, TX in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Happy to join the club.
