Well Bob that could be construed as a nice introduction to civilised and
rational discussion.

And your point is? In Australia we simply do not have criminals running
amok. Similarly other countries such as UK, Canada, New Zealand and most
if not all European Union countries. Speaking for Australia alone, I
don't lock my house, I don't lock my car. I don't live my life in fear
of anything. I don't personally know anyone else who does.
> History and the wisdom attained from an honest appraisal tells us EXACTLY that.
I see absolutely no history of that in Australia nor in the other
countries I mentioned. None of us are perfect, none of us are crime free
and never will be. But we don't live with constant fear.
> ALSO there are a class of folks that will happily decide for YOU whether you have the god-given right to protect that which is yours, including your life
Who would those folks be in Australia? Would they be the huge majority
who do not ever want a gun culture? Nobody here is denied the right to
protect themselves.
We simply don't see a problem where one doesn't exist.
> those societies will destroy themselves because of such tyranny, again something history teaches if you take the trouble to read and study
Not Australia nor probably the other countries mentioned earlier are
they likely to destroy themselves. Australia is most certainly not
tearing itself apart politically from within.
Among all the advanced countries in the world, for all practical
purposes, 100% of all eligible Australian people vote in fair elections
and everyone abides by the result - with good grace and manners.
Among all OECD countries, we don't even have a recession. We don't have
dodgy Banks or dodgy Insurance companies because we don't have a lack of
good prudential regulation. We have a world class and very cheap
universal health care system. Cost? - 1.5% of taxable income. We
continually embrace reform and good governance no matter which party is
in government.
So where is the need for fear?
> And so it goes......NOTHING NEW HERE, NOW MOVE ALONG......
Well this is not a "Fox News" forum where they shout. No doubt you will
inform us upon what basis you can conclude to inform me to:
> NOW MOVE ALONG......
You know nothing of me, my background or my history with this list.
Because people do not agree with the views circulating in your little
section of the world, it doesn't make them wrong, just simply different.
